1985, twice.
In 1985, in Taiwan, a small team of engineers began building commercial refrigerators for restaurant kitchens. That same year, in Singapore, Alan Refrigeration Services opened for business, installing and repairing fridges for coffee shops, restaurants and hotels.
The two companies would not meet for almost four decades. But in the same tropical heat, they were learning the same lesson.
The lesson.
In a commercial kitchen, food almost never fails on its own. Trace any spoiled batch back far enough and you find the same cause: a temperature that did not hold. A door opened all afternoon. A compressor losing its fight against the heat outside. A freezer that showed minus 18 on the panel but never truly held it inside.
The food did not fail first. The temperature did.
Built around one point of failure.
So TOROL builds everything around that single point of failure. The door seal is engineered so tight that the unit needs a pressure equalising valve just so you can open it again. TOROL inverter technology holds a stable temperature curve instead of swinging between too warm and too cold. Where food sits, the steel is food grade 304 stainless, because bacteria hide in liners and seams.
None of this is the cheap way to build a refrigerator. It is how you build one when you believe equipment is the first line of defence for food safety.
Two companies, one job.
In Singapore, the people who knew this lesson best were the ones repairing the fridges. After four decades of installing and servicing commercial refrigeration here, Alan Refrigeration chose one brand to put its own name behind, and became TOROL’s exclusive distributor in Singapore.
Two companies, founded in the same year, now doing one job together: making sure the temperature in your kitchen holds.
What we stand behind.
We would rather build fewer models and stand fully behind each one. Every TOROL unit is backed by a commercial warranty of up to 5 years, with a Singapore service team on call and parts on hand.
We are TOROL, food safety refrigeration for the F&B trade. Every ingredient, held at the temperature it needs.
Come and see the units running. Bring your chef.
